Job Openings Hit 7.1 Million, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

The US Department of Labor is responsible for occupational safety, wage/hour standards along with economic statistics.  They routinely monitor and publish national averages for job openings.  At the end of August 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a whopping 7.1 million job opening nationwide!   This is indicative of strong growth and the best labor market in decades.  The stats account for 2.4% for quite rates, layoffs/discharge rates of 1.2% and estimates of the number and rate of job openings, hires and separations for the nonfarm sector industry. The Washington Post reported that the United States, this fall, has more than one job opening for every unemployed person, a dramatic turnaround from the Great Recession, when there were more than six unemployed people for every job on offer, the Labor Department reported.    So where are these job openings?  Most are increasing in the government, construction, financial services, health care and professional services according to the Labor department with a slight decline in retail, manufacturing and the restaurant business. Come take a look at our website and the vast opportunities to achieve the career that you have always wanted. The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey results for September 2018 are scheduled to be released on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. (EST).
